There are materials that had to wait a long time to be appreciated and widely used in industry. One of them is stainless steel sheets, which have been steadily conquering the market for over a dozen years – and for good reason. Discover their biggest advantages today!

Applications of Stainless Steel Sheets

Stainless steel sheets, as a material, are suitable for many different applications. In construction, they can be found in elements such as pool fittings, elevators, balustrades, or column claddings – and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Stainless steel also combines perfectly with wood and glass, a trend increasingly used by designers and interior decorators around the world. The material’s properties make it ideal even… in the kitchen. Surprised? Stainless steel, alongside certain plastics and glass, can successfully be used in areas where food is stored. Its exceptional features make it both highly functional and easy to keep clean – a top priority in the food industry. But that’s not all. Beyond the food sector, stainless steel sheets are also widely used in pulp and paper mills, transport, and energy production.

Stainless Steel Sheet Offer

The main classification of stainless steel mill products distinguishes between flat and long products. Flat stainless steel products can be further divided into coiled strips – hot-rolled with thicknesses from 2.0 to 13.0 mm, or cold-rolled with thicknesses from 0.3 to 8.0 mm – and sheets with a thickness of up to 150 mm and a width of around 4000 mm. These flat products are delivered with different surface finishes, depending on the condition, such as:

  • 1D finish – surface after hot rolling, annealing, and pickling,
  • 2D finish – surface after cold rolling, then annealing and pickling,
  • 2B finish – same as 2D but with additional skin passing for reduced roughness and higher surface brightness,
  • 2R finish – bright annealed surface, resulting in a smooth, reflective appearance due to protective atmosphere processing.

Depending on requirements, in addition to these rolling finishes, stainless steels can also be supplied with various special surface finishes, such as ground (2G), patterned (e.g. leather effect – 2M), satin-brushed (2J), or other custom options.
